Dear Families,

This year Kindergarten is planning a field trip to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.

All kindergarten classes will be attending. Our field trip will be on Wednesday, April 22nd. We will leave BLRA by 8:45 a.m. and return by 2:00 p.m.

The cost of the field trip will be $22.32 per student. This will cover the cost of admission and bus transportation.

Please send the signed permission slip and pay no later than April 17, 2026. Please use the pay school link located on schoology to pay for your students fee. As this is a school field trip, we are unable to accept Annual Zoo Passes in place of purchasing a ticket. If your child has an annual pass you must still submit payment using the Payschool link. Each child will need to bring a paper sack lunch and drink or receive one from the cafeteria based on your request. We will eat at the zoo so please send something they can eat outside. It is best to send a paper sack lunch so they can throw everything away when finished and not have to carry it around all afternoon. If you do not submit a request for a school lunch, your student must bring their own. Students will not be able to purchase lunch or items from the gift shop (if you have questions concerning this policy please reach out).

We are looking for chaperones for this trip. If interested, please message your child’s teacher on schoology. Chaperones must complete the Volunteer Application found on the BLRA website under the get involved tab. Chaperones will have to pay for their own ticket and should visit Cheyenne Mountain Zoo through their website. Chaperones should plan on driving their personal vehicles and meeting us at the zoo located at 4250 Cheyenne Mountain zoo road, Colorado springs, colorado 80906.. Please plan to be there no later than 9 am. Chaperones are asked to attend to help ensure the safety and wellbeing of students. Therefore, we ask that siblings do not attend the field trip.
