Canal Winchester High School Theater is proud to present its
winter musical production of
The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical
This high-energy rock musical, based on the best-selling novel by Rick Riordan, will take the stage at the Oley Speaks Auditorium for four performances running February 20-22, 2026.
The production stars junior Emma Farley as Percy Jackson, the teenager who discovers he is a demigod and son of Poseidon. Joining Percy on his quest are senior Addie Moore as the brilliant Annabeth Chase and sophomore Branden Giesecke as the loyal satyr, Grover Underwood. Together, the trio must find Zeus’s stray lightning bolt to prevent a war between the Greek gods.
To bring this epic quest to life, the production is pushing the boundaries of our high school theater with ambitious technical elements.
“This show offers a unique opportunity for our students to master technical skills and stage combat that they haven't yet experienced in their high school careers,” says Director Brady Brennan. “Between the special effects and the physicality of the storytelling, it’s a massive undertaking that showcases the growth and versatility of our department.”
The production features original choreography and professional-grade stage combat designed by David Rice. The creative team also includes Music Director Brenna Kitchen and Producer Karla Cherwinski, with a heavy emphasis on immersive design led by Costume Designer Kelly Noffsinger and Props Designer Sammy Grubbs. The complex technical execution is overseen by Technical Directors Julianne Noffsinger and Sophia Noffsinger.
