Shrek the Musical centers on an ogre named Shrek, whose precocious life of solitude is suddenly shattered by the invasion of fairy tale creatures, who were all banished from the kingdom of Duloc by the evil Lord Farquaad.
Determined to get his home back, Shrek cuts a deal with Farquaad and, with the help of a talking Donkey, sets out to rescue Princess Fiona to be Farquaad's bride, though rescuing the Princess may be nothing compared to her deep dark secret.
