All-State Band Auditions

Auditions are happening for the 16th annual MSBOA Middle School All-State Band. Waldon has been represented in the All-State Band many times. They had a great experience playing with the very best in Michigan. This year, due to COVID-19, the All-State Band will be an honorary ensemble only and will not meet to rehearse or perform.

• $16.50 application fee (payable on registration link)
• This fee is nonrefundable.
• Please inform Mr. Cooper if you cannot afford the fee.
• You need to prepare a short musical selection and a list of scales which you will receive before the audition window begins.  You already know most of the scales.
• Private lessons are helpful to assist you in preparing your material. You may ask your teacher for a list  of private instructors if needed.  Many private teachers are providing virtual lessons due to the pandemic.
• You will “live record” your audition at home between Oct. 1 and Oct. 25.
• You will do this following an email link to the audition website.
• “Live record” means that once you start the recording, you cannot do another take. It is a one-time shot, like a live, in-person audition.
• Mr. Cooper will provide instructions before the audition window opens.
• You will find out in late November if you are selected for the All-State Band.

Once you have registered, please email Mr. Cooper so that he knows to include you in the school’s All-State registration process.

You must register to audition by September 25^th.
