Auditions Auditions are happening for the 16th annual MSBOA Middle School All-State Band. Scripps has been represented in the All-State Band 14 times, involving a total of 33 students. They had a great experience playing with the very best in Michigan. This year, due to COVID-19, the All-State Band will be an honorary ensemble only and will not meet to rehearse or perform. <!--[if !supportLists]-->o <!--[endif]-->$16.50 application fee <!--[endif]-->This fee is nonrefundable. <!--[if !supportLists]-->o <!--[endif]-->Please inform Mr. Crimmins if you cannot afford the fee. <!--[endif]-->You need to prepare a short musical selection and a list of scales which you will receive before the audition window begins. You already know most of the scales. <!--[endif]-->Private lessons are helpful to assist you in preparing your material. You may ask your teacher for a list of private instructors if needed. Many private teachers are providing virtual lessons due to the pandemic. <!--[endif]-->You will “live record” your audition at home between Oct. 1 and Oct. 25. <!--[if !supportLists]-->o <!--[endif]-->You will do this following an email link to the audition website. <!--[if !supportLists]-->o <!--[endif]-->“Live record” means that once you start the recording, you cannot do another take. It is a one-time shot, like a live, in-person audition. <!--[if !supportLists]-->o <!--[endif]-->Mr. Crimmins will provide instructions before the audition window opens. <!--[endif]-->You will find out in late November if you are selected for the All-State Band. You must register to audition by September 25th. |
